Posting Information

This position is a Tier 1 member of the LMS Team in the Coulter Faculty Commons. They are expected to respond to clients by phone, email, walk-in, and appointments in a professional manner to assist clients with the current LMS, Blackboard 9.1. Each contact with a client will be logged and completed in the ticketing system. They will also develop step sheets for faculty and student users based on the LMS training template. There will be other tasks in the daily routine related to LMS support that this position will also be ask to perform.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position

- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer relations skills are required
- Must be able to work and interact well with others
- Solid organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to expand work skills and abilities
- Ability to handle special projects
- Strong troubleshooting skills for desktop and laptop computers
- Technical knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems and the Microsoft Office Suites
- Working knowledge of PC and Apple computer systems
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suites or other multimedia software is a plus

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school and one year of experience in the field of technology related to the position’s role. Coursework in computer or information technology may be substituted year for year for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications

One year of experience or coursework in computer or information technology in the field of technology related to the position’s role is preferred. Preference will be given to those applicants with demonstrated troubleshooting skills, creative skills, and social media knowledge. Also, Microsoft and Apple Certifications, AAS degrees and previous hardware and software troubleshooting experience are pluses. Preference will also be given to those with technology training and/or higher education experience.
