Position Summary

Responsibilities of the position include: providing overall leadership for the program and its faculty; curriculum oversight; faculty recruitment and workload; program planning and evaluation; student recruitment and retention; outreach to internal and external constituents; teaching undergraduate students in the Integrated Health Sciences Program; supervise internship experiences; advise students in collaboration with the Advising Center; participate in scholarly activities; and provide service to the university, profession, and community. This position is pending Board of Governors advance reporting and consultation.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position

• Provide vision and leadership for the program and faculty to a newly implement Integrated Health Sciences Program, including curriculum oversight; faculty recruitment and workload; program planning and evaluation; student recruitment and retention; outreach to internal and external constituents.
• Develop and deliver courses within the Integrated Health Sciences Program.
• Supervise internship experiences and student research.
• Mentor and advise students in collaboration with the Advising Center with regard to academic progress and professional development.
• Engage in scholarly activities and creative contributions within the profession based upon the Boyer Model of scholarship
• Provide service to the university, profession, and community.
• Maintain currency in the academic discipline through continuing education, research, and/or participation in activities within the profession, including involvement within professional organizations at the state, district and national levels.
• Work cooperatively and collegially with all faculty and staff involved with the Integrated Health Sciences Program across the institution.
• Carry out other assignments and duties as assigned by the Director of the School of Health Sciences and Dean of the College of Health and Human Sciences.

Minimum Qualifications

• Doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution
• Academic and/or health credential in Public Health
• Three years of public health experience
• Three years of successful teaching experience
• Evidence of scholarly activity and research agenda
• Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
• Current state license, if applicable

Preferred Qualifications

• Administrative or leadership position at a college or university, preferably in a health science setting
• Curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation
• Administrative experience leading a collaborative, multi-discipline academic program
• Management of a large organization
• In addition to the doctoral degree, degrees in MBA or other health fields are favorable
