Posting Information

This position will drive both a WCU Shuttle Bus and university vans for a number of programs. Routes will be on and off-campus. The position is responsible for ensuring the safety of program participants on the bus as well as supervising the boarding and departure of participants. The Shuttle Bus Driver is also responsible for making sure that participants know program schedules to ensure that all participants are accounted for before departures. Occasional evening and weekend hours are required for this position. Additionally, this position will be representing both Educational Outreach and WCU to the public.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position

This position must have a high level of customer service and the ability to work with a variety of age groups and cultures. The position must have a thorough knowledge of NC roads and applicable traffic laws as well as locations of key sites in WNC. Position must be able to make quick and independent decisions in the case of an emergency.

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires a high school diploma, and possession of a North Carolina CDL driver’s license with P Endorsement
